Obituary for Doris Stempien
Doris M. Stempien, 90, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2021.
She was born in Greenwich to Irving and Elizabeth (Betty) Muldoon in 1931.
Doris lived her entire life in Greenwich, attending Greenwich Schools and graduating from Greenwich High School in 1948. Doris married John F. Stempien in Feb 1952 and together they lovingly raised their 3 children.
Doris worked for New York Telephone (now Verizon) for 40 years. She was a devout parishioner of Sacred Heart Church in Byram. For many decades, Doris was an active member of the Byram Veterans Women’s Auxiliary . Some of Doris’s greatest joy came from the friendships and travels she shared with the Glenville Seniors. Doris was blessed to have friendships that spanned decades.
Doris is predeceased by her husband, John F. Stempien , her daughter Sharon Stempien and her brother Richard Muldoon.
Doris is survived by her daughter Lynn Stempien (Tim) and son Jeffrey Stempien (Mae) both of Greenwich and by her brother Robert Muldoon of Killingworth CT. and her sister in law Trisha Muldoon of Greenwich. In addition, she is also survived by her grandchildren John Stempien, Maggie Curlee (Tim), Michael Stempien (Michelle) and Sarah Stempien.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday May 22,2021 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church in Byram with burial at St Mary Cemetery in Rye Brook immediately following the service.
