Obituary for Emilia Zygmont
Emilia Zygmont of Cos Cob passed away peacefully with her son by her side at The Nathaniel Witherell on Saturday May 13, 2023. She was born in Rose, Cosenza, Italy on Feb 2, 1932 to the late Luigi Ceci and Concetta Molinari Ceci.
Emilia entered the United States in 1962 and settled in Cos Cob and worked at Electrolux and then later as a self employed house keeper until 2007. Emilia married June 11 1966 to Henry Zygmont of Glenville. Emilia’s husband predeceased her Dec 10, 1977, as well as her daughter, Rhonda Zygmont Sandor on Oct 04, 2017.
Emilia enjoyed family and entertaining guests. She loved the cooking, walking many miles per day, spending time with her son and daughter, and then later her grandchildren. She enjoyed teaching her family how to cook.Sunday was a big deal having dinner together with the family. She liked to garden and passing time with her brothers and nieces and nephews.
She was always smiling and joking, and having fun. She enjoyed tv shows like Golden girls. Her favorite song was American Pie. At parties she would enjoy dancing, and telling jokes she always brought a smile to everyone’s face. She was always there to lend a hand to everyone who needed one.
She is survived by her son George Zygmont of Cos Cob, and her granddaughters Anastasia Zygmont and Georgina Zygmont. As well as her grandsons Steven Sandor and Henry Sandor of Cos Cob. As well as her brother Rocco Ceci of Cos Cob.
She was predeceased by her parents Luigi Ceci in 1969 as well as her mother Concetta in 1983. As well as three brothers Umile, Francesco and Vittorio, and five sisters, Rosa, Assunta, Carmela,Rosaría and Yolanda in Rose Cosenza Italy.
