Joseph Gene Zulli passed away peacefully on Monday, October 9, 2023. He was predeceased by his loving wife Filomena Zulli. He is survived by his children Karen Mulreed, Valerie McKenzie (Andrew), Joanna Zulli, and Joseph Zulli (Maria) and his grandchildren Sandy McKenzie, Scott McKenzie (Kelsey), Christopher Mulreed, and Joseph Zulli.
Joe was born on September 8, 1931. He married Phillis two days after he graduated from Fordham University on June 16, 1956, at Mount Carmel Church in the Bronx. They were married for nearly 65 years. He worked for Met Life for 44 years where he was the director of the Federal Life Insurance Program. Phillis and Joe raised their family in Yonkers and New Rochelle, New York. Most recently, the couple resided in Greenwich, Connecticut.
Joe looked out for each family member. He always made sure his family never wanted for anything. Every Christmas, he would ask his grandchildren if they got everything on their lists. If anyone said no, he would run to the store and buy whatever toy was missing. Joe’s passions included the New York Giants where he was a season ticket holder, ice cream, and, most importantly, his family for whom he would do anything. Joe was much loved, and his mannerisms and sayings will be missed. The family will always remember him dearly when enjoying a cone or a dish of ice cream.
