Obituary for Karen Ann Fox (Nielsen)
Karen Nielsen Fox
After a courageous battle with cancer, Karen died peacefully under hospice care on April 24th, 2023.
Born September 16th, 1962 in Greenwich Ct. Karen was raised in Cos Cob and spent most of her life in Greenwich. .
Karen attended Greenwich schools and graduated from Greenwich High School. She went onto a career in clerical and administrative work.
Karen was married to Kevin Fox on September 17th 1983. Karen and Kevin enjoyed spending time together at Tod’s Point and doing things together with their beloved dog, Lulu, until Kevin’s death in 2010.
Karen loved animals, especially her dog Lulu. She enjoyed writing and loved to read. Her favorite TV show was Everybody Loves Raymond and she knew every episode. Karen would love to talk about the old times and her memories of her days as a young girl in Cos Cob growing up with her friends and their families. The special thing about Karen was that she treated everyone the same no matter who they were or how she was feeling.
Karen was predeceased by her husband Kevin and her parents Sharon Nardiello Piro and Conrad “Jerry” Nielsen.
She is survived by her brother Mark (Marylee) and her nieces and nephew, Stephanie, Lindsay & Mark; her stepfather, John Piro and stepbrothers, Michael and William Piro. She also is survived by her aunts and many cousins; her Aunt Nancy (Godmother) and her Aunt Jeannie who always held a special spot in Karen’s heart.
We would also like to extend our thanks to her close cousin, Kim Nardiello-Panourgias, and longtime childhood friend, Kathy Miller, who were always there for Karen.
