Obituary for Rose Perna
Rose Perna, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at St. Joseph’s Manor, Trumbull, CT. Born in Vallelonga in the Italian region of Calabria on September 9, 1933 to the late Raphael Fera and Annunziata Maneli Fera. She immigrated to the United States at the age of five and resided in Portchester, NY. Rose later moved to Stamford, CT where she raised her family and then to Brookfield CT upon retirement..
Rose was a loving Mother, Nonni and La Nonna. She enjoyed gardening, music, cooking and vacations in Ocean City, NJ with her family. Rose’s Sundays consisted of cooking a traditional Italian feast for her family and listening to her favorite singer, Andrea Bocelli. She put the needs of her loved ones first and made sure holidays were made special and memorable. While living in Brookfield, Rose’s garden was the envy of all her neighbors.
Rose’s memory will remain in the hearts of her children. Robert Perna, Jr. of New Haven, CT; Rosemary Kopchick (Bob) of Southbury, CT, Joseph Perna of Vernon, CT, Louis Perna of New Milford, CT and James Perna (Fran) of Shelton, CT Besides her children, she is survived by seven grandchildren, Robert Kopchick, Jr. (Kristin), Amy Petrucci (Christopher), Joseph Perna, Jr., Kimberly Campitelli (Michael), Louis Perna, Jr., Nicholas Perna, Jaclyn Perna, six great grandchildren and her sister Antoinette Ganim and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Rose was predeceased by her husband, Robert Perna, Sr. and her sister Mary Ann Bria.
Visitation will be held at Castiglione Funeral Home, 544 Old Post Road #3, Greenwich, CT on Friday, October 21, 2022 at 9:30am. A mass of Christian Burial will be held immediately following at Sacred Heart Church, 95 Henry Street, Greenwich, CT. Private burial for immediate family will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Greenwich, CT
