Obituary for Ruth B Taracka
Ruth Taracka, of Greenwich, CT, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2022 at the age of 98. She was the daughter of the late Michael and Antonia Bielen of Passaic, NJ. Ruth was predeceased by her husband Joseph in 1981, brothers Walter, Alexander, Eugene, Robert, and sister Julia. Ruth is survived by her daughter Barbara Plank and husband Gary of Cheshire, CT, her son Richard Taracka of Greenwich, CT, grandchildren David Plank and his wife Kristin, Rachel Plank, Peter Taracka, Casey Taracka, and great grand-son Micah.
She was employed by the Greenwich Public School System and later served as secretary to the director of the Greenwich Library. Ruth was an avid reader, attended Greenwich Symphony Orchestra concerts with her loving cousin Henry, volunteered at the Greenwich Hospital, and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. She loved swimming and long walks at Tod’s Point and continued to exercise and ride her vintage exercycle up until two weeks before she passed. She will be greatly missed.
At her request, there will be no memorial service or funeral. The immediate family will hold a private burial service.
