On Easter Sunday, April 12, Stanisław (Stanley) Chmurak of Mahopac, NY, passed away at the age of 76. Stanley was born on April 18, 1943 in Wałachowka, Poland. After immigrating to the U.S. with his family in 1960, he worked for the Electrolux Corporation and then as a maintenance engineer until retirement. As a young man he enjoyed playing soccer, the accordion, and tinkering with car engines. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling throughout the U.S.
Stanley is survived by his partner, Bożena Kierych; his children Krystyna and Chris; his granddaughter Jessica Marie, and his sister Teresa. Stanley was predeceased by his parents Bołesław and Franciszka and his brother John.
Interment will be on April 16 at noon at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Greenwich.
Stanley will be best remembered for his generous heart and his willingness to always lend a hand to help everyone.
